Free tax preparation

Here is a a web site to Hope Community located on the corner of Franklin and Portland Ave. I have gone here for the last couple of years. There are volunteer accountants that reach people with limited income. Please review the site and see if you qualify. Here is the information:

Need help to prepare your 2012 taxes? You may be able to get your taxes done FAST and FREE with IRS-certified volunteers from AccountAbility Minnesota at Hope from January 24 – April 15. For times, income guidelines and tax services click here.
The AccountAbility Tax Clinic will be at Hope Community on:
Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at: 5:45 pm
and Saturdays starting at 9 am.
The clinic closes when capacity is reached.

To use the Tax Clinic, you must meet the following income guidelines:
• Individuals making $30,000 or less per year
• Families making $50,000 or less per year

Tax services include:
• Tax prep for individuals and families
• Free savings accounts
• Low-cost prepaid debit card
• Savings bonds
• Credit reports

Click here for a list of what you need to bring with you. The clinics operate on first-come, first-served basis. It is a good idea to arrive when the clinic starts, or even 15 minutes earlier, to get in line. Please allow at least two hours or more for tax preparation. All taxes are prepared by IRS-certified volunteers.
